I was getting off the plane in Seattle and was walking towards a set of staircases that were split. Both were going up, but one side said “Do not enter”. The lady in front of me started to go up that side when her daughter said “Mom, you can’t go that way!” And the replied, “Does it really matter?” At the top of the stairs as we rounded the corner it was clear that one way lead to the door to get out, and the other way was blocked off and could not get back over to the door side. Does it really matter? Don’t all ways lead to heaven? This is what I thought as I encountered a modern day scenario that illustrated an eternal illustration. Yes! It does matter. Because while both ways looked good, only one way worked.
Solomon wrote these words that point to what I saw that day in Proverbs 14:12/16:25 “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” So, yeah…it does matter.
